Working from home has pretty much become a formality after over 6 months. No office chats, tea breaks and after work drinks on a Friday. Instead, zoom calls have consumed our lives and are often the only way to socially interact during the day.
In short, heading into week 2 of lockdown is a daunting feeling and wondering how long it will last is an even worse one. However, GourmetFuel are here to help! We have compiled some tips on How to Survive Life in Lockdown and avoid any mistakes that occurred back in March.
Tips on How to Survive Life in Lockdown
Routine is Key:
Waking up at the same time every morning, working from 9 – 5 pm during the weekday and trying to catch those Zzz’s at the same time every night is so important. So, with many people not working at the moment these are still really vital to give structure to your day in order to Survive Life in Lockdown. Above all, the certainty of our routine can help us to manage the uncertainty that life can throw up, especially during Lockdown.
Keep Moving:
We’ve all tried the online exercise classes and the walks within our 5km, which some of you may still be doing or have found other ways to get your heart rate up. Consequently, with shorter hours of sunlight this time around, we should try get out to exercise at lunchtime to avoid waiting until it’s dark and realistically… raining. Most importantly, this will help your mental health and have a mood boosting effect. In addition, 10-15 mins of exposure to sunlight a day can give the optimal dosage of Vitamin D. This can help prevent you from catching any nasty bugs once winter hits!
Smart Snacking:
We all learned that WFH leads to endless snacking… so this time you need to be more prepared! Small changes like leaving the fruit out on the countertop and the healthier snacks at the front of the press at eye level will help draw your attention towards them first. Or even better why not try our broad range of delicious snacks which are only 200kCal, with some firm favourites being our Coconut Protein Bites, Raw Energy Nut Bar and Lemon Madeleines, ideal for a 3 pm snack with a cuppa!
Immune Boosting Foods:
We all hopped on the banana bread baking and posting it on Instagram bandwagon back in March and April (along with other baked goods), but now it’s too cold for that. In order to Survive Life in Lockdown, we need hearty, warming meals to keep our immune systems up as the weather gets colder. Our soups like the Chunky Red Lentil Soup or Tomato & Roast Red Pepper Soup do just the trick and dinners like our Cottage Pie and Braised Beef Stew are nourishing and highly nutritious.

Alternatively, we offer Healthy Meal Plans, including breakfast, lunch and dinner and Calorie Plans ranging from 1,000-4,000 kcal/per day depending on your body type and composition.
