As Halloween approaches, the temptation of sugary sweets and indulgent treats can be hard to resist. While it's perfectly fine to enjoy some traditional Halloween goodies in moderation, it's also a great time to incorporate nutritious treats into your festivities, and get creative while doing it too! Here are some ways to strike a balance between the fun of Halloween and your commitment to a healthy lifestyle:

Fruit-O-Lanterns: Get creative with your fruits! Carve oranges or mandarins into little pumpkin faces, creating adorable "Fruit-O-Lanterns." They're not only festive but also provide essential vitamins and fibre too!

Trail Mix: Whip up a Halloween-themed trail mix using nuts, seeds, popcorn and a few dark chocolate chips or dried fruit for a touch of sweetness. It's a satisfying and nutrient-packed snack!


Dark Chocolate: While traditional Halloween sweets can be high in sugar, you can opt for dark chocolate treats. Dark chocolate contains antioxidants and can satisfy your sweet tooth with less sugar.

Dark Chocolate or Caramel Dipped Apples: Enjoy apples dipped in dark chocolate or caramel this halloween! Apples are in season right now too, packed with vitamins and fibre!
