Anyone who is into Japanese food knows that a Chicken Katsu Curry is wickedly wonderful. What makes it stand out from other curries is that the meat is lightly breaded in crunchy panko breadcrumbs before having a rice silky curry sauce poured all over it. Offering crunch, spice and sauce, this meal is a real comfort dish.

Chicken is an amazing high-biological value protein source, aiding in the repair and maintenance of muscle and bone tissue, as well as helping with satiety levels. It also contains minerals like potassium, calcium, and iron. It is a good source of B vitamins important for boosting the immune system and giving you glowing skin.

Brown basmati rice is an excellent source of low GI carbohydrates and fibre. It also provides more magnesium, vitamin E, zinc, potassium, and phosphorus than standard basmati rice.

The high carb and protein content in this meal makes it an excellent post-workout meal for recovery and repair. As we know, our body’s preferred source of energy is carbs, so when we workout we deplete those energy stores and have to replace them.
